Rosacea
Rosacea is a chronic, progressive inflammatory dermatosis
of the face that effects 14 million people. 70% of rosacea sufferers say
that it has lowered their self esteem and self confidence while another
30% have even missed work and avoided professional interactions during
a bad flare-up.
Although the cause is still unknown with several theories ranging from
bacterial infections to skin mites, no one knows for sure. There are however
certain conditions both environmental and personal that perpetuate this
condition. Some of these triggers are: sun exposure, stress, hot and cold
weather, wind, alcohol, spicy foods, heavy exercise, hot baths and certain
skin care products that irritate the skin. It is very important to see
a doctor for diagnosis and to discuss the latest treatments on the market,
using the proper skin care products and keeping a personal dairy of flare-ups.
If You Suffer From:
• Redness on cheeks, nose, chin or forehead
• Small visible blood vessels on face
• Bumps or pimples on face
• Watery or irritated eyes
... you may be one of the millions suffering from rosacea.

There are various oral and topical treatments available through your doctor
and used in conjunction with the most innovative lasers that are out,
the results are better than ever in controlling this skin disorder.
The laser removes visible blood vessels, reduces redness and corrects
disfigurement from the nose by the wavelengths of light that target these
small vessels just under the skin. The heat from the laser builds up in
the vessels, causing them to disintegrate. Generally 3 to 5 treatments
are recommended along with medical grade topicals and sometimes anti-biotics.
Vitamin C and Azelaic acid have been very successful as topicals used
in conjunction with lasers to decrease redness, flushing, blood vessels
and bumps.
Call for your free medical skin care evaluation today. You don't have
to suffer anymore and rosacea is covered by most insurance.
