Dermal fillers

The way your skin looks is directly related to the way your skin is supported. Collagen is actually the natural support structure of your skin. As we age, the collagen thins and wrinkles appear. Other factors such as environment, disease, lifestyle, and heredity can also weaken the collagen fibers, causing wrinkles. Dermal Fillers are injected just below the surface of the skin, filling in unwanted wrinkles and lines, and adding definition to the lip border. Fillers can minimize or eliminate the lines that appear between the nose and mouth when you smile. Also, it can add definition to the lips and fill in those annoying vertical lip lines.

Injectable dermal fillers restore volume and fullness to the skin reducing the appearance of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Diva offers a wide range of dermal fillers to suit each your needs.

Hylaform®

An economical way to smooth away unwanted lines and wrinkles. This dermal filler is made of Hyaluronic acid (a naturally occuring substance) and is reported to last about three months.

Restylane®

This is the first and only cosmetic dermal filler made of non-animal Hyaluronic acid and is used to provide volume and fullness to the skin. Restylane can last up to nine months.

RadianceFN

This is made of a completely synthetic compound comprised of microspheres of calcium hydroxyl apatite combined with an aqueous gel. Calcium is a natural substance already in the body, so Radiance will not cause a negative reaction. Radiance has been used safely by the medical field for over 25 years, and the filler lasts 3-5 years. It is gradually replaced by your body's own tissue and slowly dissolves away over several years.

Fraxel Laser

Busy patients who want younger and more refreshed looking faces - but can't take time out for long healing periods - are turning to the Fraxel laser, according to Thomas S. Powers, M.D., medical director of Diva Esthetics Medical Group.

Faster Healing

Before, patients who wanted to get rid of brown spots, wrinkles around the eyes, acne scars and other rough skin faced a long recovery period after skin resurfacing. But now, the Fraxel offers a new type of laser resurfacing. It is creating a buzz because Fraxel is the only laser that splits the laser beam into thousands of microscopic treatment areas. Guided by a computer which tells what areas of the face need treating, and how much, the Fraxel leaves tiny dots of treated skin next to areas of untouched skin. Healing is much faster when treatment is done dot-by-dot instead of removing the whole top layer of skin at once. A normal treatment plan usually includes three to five Thermage sessions, spaced seven to ten days apart, so all the skin is eventually treated. A topical anesthetic is applied in most cases, followed by a blue tint jell to highlight skin contours.

More Collagen

Additionally, the Fraxel reaches down through the outer layer of skin and heats the underlying collagen, a layer of protein that supports your skin. In response to the heat, even more collagen grows, plumping up your skin to remove wrinkles and the folds of skin associated with aging. In just a few days, you'll see smoother and younger-looking skin. Unlike other lasers, Fraxel can also be used on sensitive areas like the neck, chest and backs of the hands.

Patients tend to show mild sunburn for about an hour after a treatment, but can put on makeup or shave soon afterwards. Some return to normal activities on the same day of treatment. Others take a little more time. Optimal improvements via Fraxel are usually seen in about two to three months.

Fraxel can be performed in any of Diva Esthetics Medical Group's three Southern California's locations.

Fraxel Laser Treatment

Fraxel for younger looking skin

Fraxel is a unique approach to repairing aging and sun-damaged skin, pixel by pixel, just like Photoshop software for the skin! Fraxel laser treatments reduce the appearance of fine lines, as well as eliminate the uneven coloring and brown spots caused by aging and sun exposure. Fraxel can also improve the texture of the skin, by making it feel softer, smoother, and fresher. The Fraxel laser functions by reaching through the top layers of skin to heat the underlying collagen. The heat stimulates the production of more collagen protein, which fills in the lines and wrinkles in the skin and creates a youthful effect.

The Fraxel laser is unlike other lasers because it splits the laser beam into thousands of microscopic treatment areas, working to treat only the areas that need attention. This cutting edge technology reduces the healing time and allows treatment on more sensitive areas like the neck, chest, and back of the hands. This proven procedure is non-invasive and involves little to no downtime. Fraxel can be performed at any one of Diva Aesthetic Medical Group’s Southern California locations.
