Orange County Cosmetic Surgeon – Thomas Powers, MD

Thomas Shelton Powers, MD is a distinguished, highly skilled and experienced physician who specializes in a wide range of advanced breakthrough cosmetic facial and body procedures, pain management, anti-aging, wellness and weight management, and regenerative medicine in Huntington Beach, CA. As the Medical Director of Diva Aesthetics Medical Group, he oversees Orange County and Los Angeles County office locations in southern California. He is also CEO at PowersMD Wellness, a provider of integrative medicine solutions for optimal health.

Dr. Powers is certified in advanced cosmetic laser procedures and has completed his training in Botox® and IPL on the Luminis laser. Dr. Powers is one of the pioneers in cosmetic laser medicine, exclusively devoting his practice to the use of FDA-approved procedures, such as laser hair removal, laser IPL™ fotofacial and body rejuvenation treatments, Botox®, Juvederm®. Dr. Powers is widely recognized for developing the then breakthrough “20 minute face lift,” which is intended to provide a more youthful and vibrant appearance by smoothing out the upper part of the face with Botox®, and filling in lines and creases on the bottom portion of the face with Juvederm® and Radiesse®.

His proficient training and experience in the field of skin rejuvenation and skin tightening has won him recognition and several prestigious awards over the past 12 years, such as being a Black Diamond Award recipient for Thermage® 2003 – 2011, treating more than 4,000 patients.

Dr. Thomas Powers is affiliated with numerous medical associations, including: the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery: the International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine; the International Society of Cosmetic and Laser Surgeons (ISCLS), the American Pain Management Association; the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine; and the American Academy for Procedural Medicine.

He continues to be at the forefront of cosmetic medicine. In addition, Dr. Powers is a participating and board member of the International Cellular Medicine Society and is engaged in pioneering research and training in stem cell therapeutics, where there are highly promising applications for healthy aging, orthopedic treatments, aesthetics, men’s and women’s health, and many others.

Dr. Powers earned his undergraduate degree from Centenary College with high honors and received the National Institute of Health Scholarship to study Pharmacology at Tulane University Medical School. He later earned his medical degree from the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas.

After residency at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital, he served as Lt. Commander and Emergency Medical Officer on the front lines in Vietnam, with the 3rd Marine division of the U.S. Navy. In addition, Dr. Powers practiced emergency medicine in San Francisco until 1998 where he served as President and CEO of one of the largest emergency physician groups in the nation – Medicus Medical Group, overseeing 200 physicians.
